The Mighty Malkin

I just had the pleasure of seeing Michelle Malkin give a talk at a church here in Oklahoma City. Incase you don’t know, Michelle Malkin is a FOX News contributor, writer, and political commentator. Very conservative and tough enough to stand up to Chris Matthews. She was on Martthews’ show, Hardball and withstood, quite well I might add, his and Keith Olbermann’s pummeling. I saw Chris Matthews get into a bit of a skirmish with former Democrat senator, Zell Miller at the 2004 Republican National Convention, and Matthews kind of giggled his way out of it when Miller thrust a metaphorical fist in his face. When Michelle Malkin was a guest on his show, Matthews got vitriolic and…well, mean. His face didn’t have that sheepish little smile it did with Miller. No smiles, no giggles, no back peddling verbal retreats. Just scowls, snarls, and vituperative boorish battering. However, I shouldn’t be surprised. Malkin is not much over five feet tall and maybe a hundred pounds. Matthews probably thought he could take her. Zell Miller, on the other hand, is not five-foot tall woman. He’s a physically fit man, and a former Marine. But I can see why Matthews would feel emboldened with Michelle Malkin; he had Olbermann with him on the chance that Malkin got violent. With miller, he was all by himself.
But I digress.
First of all, let’s get the most important thing out of the way…Michelle Malkin looked fantastic! She is a beautiful woman, really hot! But then, so am I. Actually, as my close friends and family will tell you, unlike Michelle Malkin, I am neither beautiful nor a woman. In fact, I am probably just about as far away from the lovely little Philippino dynamite pundit as I can get. As she was leaving I stepped up to shake her hand. Now, picture this: I’m six three, white as Hitler’s wish, blonde haired, blue eyed, and tip the scales at about two hundred and seventy pounds. She’s a small black-headed Asian, with a waist about the size of my biceps. With me bearing down on her, even smiling as kindly as I could, images of a Nordic King Kong accosting and tiny raven haired, brown skinned Fay Wray might come to mind. She was of course very kind and thanked me for coming. She’s a little powerhouse of political presence, and we conservatives are lucky to have her.
Her words were quite inspiring, poignant, and most of all, accurate. She spoke of how it was never the intention of our founding fathers and many subsequent leaders to allow any and everyone to pour into the United States whenever they would so choose. She had statistics, dates, quotes, and delivered them with confidence ease (there’s something so sexy about a strong, confident woman). And she was so gracious. On her way out, Just before she shook my hand, she even turned to a WWII veteran and gave him a hug for his service and sacrifice. Sweet.
When the Q&A part came, she was calm, cool, collected, and answered questions with capable alacrity and aplomb (no surprise she took on Matthews and Olbermann at the same time and held her own). I was quite impressed. Her answers were concise and to the point, but one of them didn’t satisfy me. It was in answer to the question, What are true conservatives to do about the ‘liberalizing’ of the Republican Party? (I was the one asking the this particular question, and just as she started to answer, she socked her hip and her very modest dress came open at the bottom a bit and showed a some of her thigh, so my attention was a little distracted. Sorry, Michelle, but my readers know me to be pretty much a typical low-life man with drifting eyes). She said that we have to support our local politicians that show themselves to be genuinely conservative on the issues, put our dissatisfaction into written complaint and send the letters to whomever it is appropriate and effective. And of course, she said to vote for the candidate who represents those values we hold dear. I guess that’s all one can say. The Republicans have allowed, even solicited a more ‘Inclusive’ form of party expansion, to the point of bleeding it dry of its original principals. Although she didn’t come right out and say that, it seemed that she agreed with those sentiments – what true conservative wouldn’t be?
I suppose her answer was as good as any, given that there is really no other. I guess what I’m looking for is a silver bullet. I’m looking for something that will jolt the party back to its senses and get it back to where it once was; the party of Reagan, the party of Limbaugh, the party of Coulter…the party of Malkin.
Will it ever be that again? Doubtful. I just hope the Republican Party, my party at present, will do something to keep me form re-registering as an Independent. So far, it hasn’t. But hey, I’m still here…for now.
But who knows, with women like Michelle Malkin, Ann Coulter, Mary Matalin (not withstanding Matalin’s ‘literally’ sleeping with the enemy) and other gorgeous conservative women in the battle, maybe, just maybe, the men will take an example form them and learn how to toughen up as well.
Uh…no, probably not.
