Yep, that's right, I'm done with the fifteenth rewrite of my novel, Sara (possible new title, A New Life). So to celebrate, and in view of my inborn enthusiasm for laziness, I'm taking some time off.
Sara is now in the very capable hands of Wayne Lin, a buddy of mine who is both a very good editor and a very good friend. He has graciously lent me his talents before (this will not be the first time he's greatly improved my work) and after he's done with Sara, pointing out all of the errors, mistakes, incongruent plot connections (hopefully there will be few if any) and any other anomalies, then I'll go over it, make all the corrections that I agree with, which will probably be most of them, and then, perhaps, I'll be done.
It has been well said of a poem – and this applies to literature as well – that it is never finished, it is abandoned. Meaning that an arttist can always tweak and fiddle with a particular work for the entirety of his poor, miserable life. I will attempt to avoid such manic trappings, as my life is definitely poor, but hardly miserable.
So I will be taking a vacation from Sara, from my many short stories that I've started, and from this, my weekly column, as well. In short, for the next couple of weeks, when you visit my website, you won't find a new tale or tome, tirade or treatise.
But fear not, my loving and loyal fans, aka, mom and two friends. I have many a mini missives in the archives for your reading pleasure, and in any case, I will be back to the old winsome and witty word-wailing after a wee wandering and wending while. Just a couple of weeks ... maybe three. Or possibly four, and definitely no more than seventy. Either way, in the famous words of the Terminator, "I'll be back."
Have fun, enjoy not reading my insightful tiny tomes, and I'll see you a little later.

p.s. If you absolutely can't stand to be without my words of wisdom, there's plenty in the archives and Free Stuff sections.
